Critical music is a UK Drum & Bass record label. Founded by Kasra Mowlavi, the brand has become one of the scenes most credible outlets for forward-thinking producers.

With a strong identity already in place, Kasra approached us to design a new look for the ‘Critical Sounds’ LP.  We were asked to move away from the normal, clean lines that the record label was currently associated with. Our design pays homage to vintage record players and reel-to-reel machines by creating a very rough, punk approach to the imagery and typography.
