J2V

—Virtual Festival

Posted on: 28.07.2020

After Junction 2 was postponed due to the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic, LWE replaced the event with an online, one-day festival experience; J2V. With over 30 DJ's and the ability for users to walk around four virtual stages within the site, the festival streamed live to 17.2 million people in 205 countries.

Working in collaboration with LWE we created J2Vs identity and marketing campaign; referencing early computer graphics, 3D wire-frames and grid structures that reflect the aesthetic of the virtual world.

To maintain continuity, the opening announcement video shows the transition of the physical festival campaign glitching into a black and white wireframe; introducing the new J2V environment.

The following videos profiled each of the four stages with wire-frames of the virtual stages overlaid with the associated line-ups and event information. The campaign lead to a click through rate of 44 thousand and a total impression count of 10.4 million.

Junction 2 Festival

—2019

Following three amazing years, Junction 2 festival is returning in 2019, and will now take place over two days. Junction 2 merges natural beauty, green fields, rambling rivers, woodland pathways and hidden enclaves - all dominated by striking industrial features that make the site iconic.

The challenge for this years brief was to promote the unique location, and the progression of moving from a one day, to a two day festival.

With this in mind we worked closely with photographer Joseph Ford, developing a concept that featured two characters as the basis for the campaign. The first character is dressed in a white fencing outfit, representing the electronica day. The second character is dressed in a black suit with a mirrored mask, representing the techno day.

The shoot took place from dawn until dusk, and was photographed in seven locations throughout the festival site. There are seven stages of campaign announcements from November 2018 to June 2019, so it was essential that we had enough content to work with.

When creating the artwork, we combined two images for each stage rather then using a single photograph of both characters. This approach... Read on

Spectrasoul

—How We Live

This November sees the release of "How We Live", the 3rd studio album produced by Spectrasoul. Having worked with Jack and Dave since their first release on Shogun Audio back in 2010, we were thrilled to design the artwork for their latest project. The six track 12" vinyl EP and thirteen track gatefold CD package are self released on their imprint IshChat, and the artwork features an etching by Natascha Young. We combined Natascha's etching with a striking yellow, and subtle directional typography, to create an impactful and recognisable campaign.

You can buy or stream the album HERE

To coincide with the release, Spectrasoul were asked to to produced a two hour set for the legendary Radio 1 Essential Mix which you can listen too HERE

Calyx & Teebee

—2017 Album Campaign

2017 sees the third campaign from Calyx & Teebee out on Ram Records / Sony BMG. For this project we've teamed up with photographer Davy Evans to create a series of abstract imagery that will run through ten digital singles and five printed 12" record sleeves.

We've created a bespoke font "Daylight" for the track titles, which is paired with the logotype we designed back in 2012. Shown here are the first four digital singles and we will keep you updated as the campaign progresses.
